Give & Go in Nanaimo is to be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 3851 Shenton Road.
This is the inaugural year for this event at a NEW LOCATION with new organizers but they believe the hundreds of volunteers, donators and other community members will be working hard towards success for the 1st-annual Give & Go presented by Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln, The Salvation Army and Loaves & Fishes. The Give & Go has been held successfully since 2002 with more than 300 donors participating.
The fun family affair, which will be held at Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln, 3851 Shenton Road between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., helps fill the annual Hamperville Christmas Hamper program, sponsored by the Salvation Army and the Loaves Fishes food bank.
There is a significant need in the community for assistance at Christmas time, the Give & Go team encourage people to drop by December 7 to donate non-perishable food, money and warm clothing like jackets, socks and toques. At the 2015 Give & Go event more than 6,000 pounds of food was donated, valued at $14,600, as well as $2,300 in cash donations.
The owner of Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln and an original sponsor, Ann Marie Clark, said “I want the tradition of taking care of our community to continue, I LOVE how the Give & Go is able to accomplish just that.”?
