There is plenty of trunk room in the all-new Ford Escape — 971 litres, to be exact. And that’s a fact we at the Ford blog have gone great lengths to prove.
To help you visualize how much space there is in the trunk of the all-new 2013 Ford Escape, we created an animated infographic. We took a number of common items like chicken wings, bags of ice and MP3 players and determined how many of each will fit in the trunk of the Escape.
Now, it wasn’t just enough to crunch the numbers ourselves. We needed professional accreditation to make sure our readers were getting accurate information. So we enlisted a recent physics graduate from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology to conduct an experiment, which used math formulas that measured the volume of each item, in relation to the size of the trunk.
Furthermore, we had those findings officially reviewed by Dr. Dharma Wijewickreme, a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia. Safe to say, Wijewickreme approved!
So in the video, when we say that 5,566 chicken wings can fit in 971 litres of storage space, you better believe it. Want further proof? Check out our work here.
